Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Walnut Cookies

becci amesComment

This is one of my favorite cookies. This is an old recipe, from when I worked as a pastry chef at the Sleeping Lady Retreat Center in Leavenworth, WA.. I used to serve it every once in a while at lunch. Sometimes, instead of chocolate chips and walnuts, I would substitute white chocolate and dried cranberries. Also very good maybe even better, I just don't have any in my cupboards right now.

  • 1 c. Butter, softened
  • 1 c. Brown Sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 c. Thick Rolled Oats
  • 2 c. A.P. Flour
  • 1/2 tsp. Salt
  • 1 tsp. Baking Soda
  • 1 c. Chocolate Chips
  • 1 c. Chopped Walnuts

Cream the butter and the brown sugar. Add one egg at a time. Dump in the rest of the ingredients. Do not over mix. Bake at 325 degrees for 15 minutes. Let cool. Enjoy with milk.
