Governor's Inaugural Ball | Marbles Childrens Museum. Raleigh, North Carolina
First off, I still cannot believe that I got to photograph the Governor's Inaugural Ball. I voted for Roy Cooper and was so happy when his win was finally declared!!! It was an exciting day. I heard it on the news in the car. I whooped! When I first found out that I could photograph it, I was SO THRILLED!!! You wouldn't believe how excited I was. I did a little happy dance in my office.
That day, I showed up early and watched all the behind the scenes. There was a lot. Security, flowers, the chefs, watching all the wonderful people at the Junior League of Raleigh have to combine the Council of State Reception with the Inaugural Ball, it was amazing how they pulled that off last minute with a snow storm on it's way. Watching the crew for The Avett Brothers set up the stage, sound equipment and instruments. That was cool. Getting to see and photograph The Avett Brothers play, SOOOOO AMAZING.
Getting to photograph this event, it was once in a lifetime COOL (I hope not!)!! Here are just a few images.
