COLORADO!!!! My flight is booked and I'm on my way with my camera and a very short, very silly assistant in tow. I will be in Denver and Aspen, hoping to photograph wonderful people, giggling and in love with real mountains in the background. REAL mountains! Not that the mountains of North Carolina aren't awesome, they just aren't 14'ers. Could I be more excited?!? NO! I have two slots available in between May 28th and June 1st (not counting May 30th because Lizzy and Dan are getting married!!!!)
Shoot me an email or give me a ring, to get your session in my calendar and share this with any local friends you think should be in front of my camera!!

Kayla & Ryan get married | Morrison, CO

I love all of my couples. I get pretty selective, so this is no accident. But, after all the time I have spent with Kayla and Ryan, I feel as these two are truly friends now. I met Kayla a few years back, when she first started dating Ryan. I saw the excitement in her eyes and heard it in her voice, about how she was totally in love. When I got the email from Kayla that her and Ryan were engaged, I became totally elated. She asked me to fly back for her wedding and I didn't even have to think about it. I practically screamed YES!

When I finally got to meet Ryan at their engagement session, I knew. He is perfect for her. That same love is also in his eyes. Then, when I saw them together at Jenna and Mike's wedding a couple of months ago, it was so great to see them all cuddly walking down the aisle together as a bridesmaid and groomsman. I got so excited for their Big Day!

I am so incredibly honored to have captured their love in pictures.....

I got to hike around Red Rocks, since the drive took three hours less than I had planned. Yes, this is what I consider punctual.

I am so glad that Kayla and Ryan chose to have a first look. I was so excited to see Ryan's face when he saw his bride. Kayla was stunning!

I love you both and am so incredibly happy for you.

xoxo, becci

Random tidbit. Miss Jennifer here, she started my career. She was the very first person to ask me to take her pictures. She was pregnant with her youngest and we went out to Lee Martinez Park, in Fort Collins and I took pictures of her daughter and her peanut. I didn't really know what I was doing. I had no idea how to pose people. I was totally intimidated. Luckily, she wasn't paying me so I didn't have to worry too much about screwing up. It was after that, when I started shooting weddings. Much after. But here we are. Jen is still a very dear friend. And I'm still taking her family pictures. How wonderful is that? Very!

Jenna and Mike. I can't say enough good things about them. They are funny, sweet, likeable in every way. I love the way they look at each other. You can see the comfort yet they still look like giddy kids still all goo-goo over each other. I even love their family and friends. What a perfect wedding for a perfect couple. I am so honored that I got to be a part of this special day. I am so happy for the fabulous Mr. and Mrs. Schroeder.

When Sondra emailed me, before I left for Colorado, I was so excited. I love working with other photographers. I expected her to have all sorts of great ideas, and Sondra did not disappoint. She had even made a list. I doubt I got them all  (there were alot) but, what I did capture was a young family deeply in love. It was great to meet all of you and I hope you love your images as much as I do.

Jenna loves Mike: The Rehearsal Dinner | Snow Mountain Ranch, Winter Park, CO

weddingsbecci amesComment

I left Durham, NC just a day before Hurricane Irene was scheduled to take the coast. I was apprehensive to go. I wasn't too into the idea of leaving my sweet family behind, not knowing what was coming since we were expected to be in her path. I was flying from Raleigh to Atlanta, when the pilot said, "If you'll look to your left, you will see Hurricane Irene". The plane shifted when everyone jumped out of their seats. It was by far the most amazing thing I had ever seen.I called Home Saturday morning to hear of the disappointment of getting no more than a sprinkle and a slight breeze. I was able to relax and just enjoy shooting Jenna and Mike's rehearsal dinner. It's not often that a bride and groom make me feel so welcome. Everybody welcomed me with open arms. It was fabulous. Then I saw how much everybody seemed to love everyone. The father of the groom, speaking to his son and new daughter didn't leave a dry eye in the room. I choked up. Then came the party and after party party and I was sure that Mike and Jenna were trying to make sure that I had the best time ever at a wedding. I love these two. They are the sweetest, most wonderful couple.

Also, the best speech from the father of the groom. It got me all teary eyed. Thank you Herb, for sending me this...

"I want to thank everyone for coming today; I know many of you have traveled a very long distance to be here with us. We really appreciate having you all here today. Several of you have been helping with setup and I want to express our appreciation for all you’ve done to help us with this wedding. Dave and Judy – I want to thank you for all the time and resources you are putting into this wedding to make it the wonderful celebration that it is. And more than anything, we want to thank you for bringing Jenna into the world. Jenna, when Amber & I first met you we were so impressed with how warm and comfortable you seemed around us, and how welcome you made us feel. When we’re around you it’s hard to believe that we’ve known you for such a short time. You are kind hearted and you truly have a gift. We welcome you into our family, and we look forward to many good times ahead. Michael, you’ve truly been a blessing in our lives from the day you came to us. You make us proud in so many ways I won’t even try to list them. We’re just so happy for you that you found this wonderful young lady to love and share the rest of your life with. To us you are one of life’s biggest rewards. The both of you have connected our two families. This last week we have been doing what families do. We’ve been making memories; memories that will make us laugh for years to come. I think you two have the formula for a successful marriage. You’re both very bright people with common interests and goals, you support each other, you challenge each other to excel, and treat each other with respect. You have one more very important ingredient. I think BOTH of you have really awesome in-laws! And what more could a young couple ask for? We all live well over a thousand miles away! And so, Michael and Jenna, my toast to you: May you both live long, happy, healthy, and prosperous lives together, and may you continue to grow closer each day. We love you both! Congratulations!"

So, I'm starting a new thing. Every week on my facebook photography page (we can be friends!), I'm going to give out one image. Full size. You can download it, print it, hang it on your wall. They will all be fine art, landscape, macro, random shots. You can request a certain image that you've seen on the blog. It'll be fun. I'm excited. Just let me know if you've printed it. I'm curious like that.

*Please mind, just because I am giving out images. I will still own the copyright. My signature is down at the right corner. Please don't sell, submit or tell everyone you know it's your own work. That will make me sad and I'll stop the whole thing.

**This picture is not mine. I found it on google. I just needed an image of a pick-me-up.

The Trawick Family | Horsetooth Reservoir

The Trawick's are another one of my favorite families in the whole world. When they moved to Fort Collins from Philadelphia, Tiffany and I were instantly friends. We quickly became best friends and we're mostly inseparable. We still talk everyday. She knows everything about me, and it was painful to leave her and not drag her with me to Durham. She has stuck with me through crazy drama, joy, and I got to be there with her through all of it too. So, here's to my favorite family. I love you all. location: Horsetooth Reservoir, Fort Collins, CO.

Chris & Kara | Married at the USAFA

weddingsbecci amesComment

When I met with Kara to discuss her wedding and she told me all the details, I about jumped up and down. An Air Force wedding, with the tunnel, and the dress blues and, Oh My God!, please let me shoot your wedding- is what I think I may have shouted from the back of the coffee shop. I was just envisioning picture perfect venue with the sweetest, prettiest couple. Just so you know, I was right. It was the most picture perfect wedding with the sweetest prettiest couple. I think I just wandered around in awe when I got to see the inside of the US Air Force Base Chapel. Went to photographer's heaven.Chris and Kara, Thank you so much for inviting me to be a part of one of the most important days in your life. I am honored and thrilled that you entrusted me. I had a great time. Location: US Air Force Base, Colorado Springs Colorado
