Normally, I don’t say much in blog posts. I feel like the images should say everything about the wedding and that what I can add is so trivial, that they are a mere distraction. But, this one, has a story to it. This wedding was two days after Hurricane Michael hit North Carolina. There were downed trees everywhere and it was even a challenge to get out of my neighborhood because of flooding. The day of Kathy and Mark’s wedding, it was a beautiful sunny day, and if you looked at the sky, you would think everything were perfect outside, but there were still effects of the hurricane in Chatham County, everywhere you looked. Duke Electric was still working on over time, but most of the county didn’t have power. Roads were blocked. The Barn of Chapel Hill is in the heart of Chatham County and felt the sting just as much as everyone else in the county had but they had stepped up and gotten a generator (when it probably was incredibly hard to even find one), restroom facilities, a ton of long extension cords. You’ll see that the only lights were from the dj and not the venue. We were lucky that he had brought some up lighting that was all charged up and ready to go. All the vendors had done everything they could to make sure that the day was as smooth as it could be. All of these vendors, they are amazing. They will work their hardest for you. As you look through these photos, remember, Kathy and Mark got married and did it with ease and a smile on their face, even though there were challenges galore.
